Discoveroo Constuction Set Product Review and Giveaway

Discoveroo, An Australian brand of Educational Toys and Games

Discoveroo is an Australian company with a mission to encourage creative play through beautiful, affordable, and sustainable wooden toys. We've found that parents are more interested in wooden toys and less interested in plastic and electronic toys. Although usually cheaper, plastic and electronic toys have limited play value and often break quickly. Furthermore, they limit the amount of Creative Play that is necessary to develop a child's mind during critical windows of accelerated development in early childhood. These critical times are windows of opportunity for parents and educators to provide the best possible learning environment. Discoveroo products are designed to encourage more Creative Play; they stir up the imagination with outcomes that are not predetermined, which gives a child the opportunity to explore possibilities and develop their mind. Our toys are Natural and Simple because, for young children, seeing how a toy works is an important part of understanding the world. The natural materials also stimulate the senses in a way that processed materials cannot.

We had the opportunity to review 3 wonderful products from Discoveroo. I will do each review in a seperate post as the company would like to offer a seperate giveaway for each.

This is our third review. Please look on our blog for our first and third reviews too.

It is for the Construction Set.
Includes nuts and bolts, wheels, pieces of different length and a screwdriver. 80 pieces in all made from Plantation Birch Wood.

There is no limit to what you can make!

Because it contains some small parts, its not recommended for children under 3 years. 3 year olds will probably need some supervision but from 4 onwards, they are okay on their own with this one.

Develops mechanical aptitude and stimulates the imagination.

Packaged in a durable flat box with a handle for easy storage.

My 8 year old son helped with this review. As you can see he received a constuction set that he can create thigns with. My son has a great imagination and loves to build things too. He was freaking out when I pulled this out of the box. He couldn't wait to jump right in and start creating. He started off just creating things on his own. You can see a little car that he created in the picture  above.

He then decided he wanted to try to use one of the cards provided with the set. It tells you which pieces you will need to use and a picture of the finished product.

This is a picture of the front and back of 2 of the cards. This way it will give you an idea as to what they look like. He decided to try and build the boat all by himself.

As you can see by the picture above that he did pretty darn good creating it. It looks just like the picture. I was so proud of him and he was proud of himself. I love that there is really no right or wrong way. It is all about using your imagination and motor skills to create really cool things. He has created a boat, car, dog and so much more. He can sit and play for hours creating things with all of the pieces. His 6 year old sister also loves to create with them too.

I have used it during our homeschool classroom. I give them each so many pieces and have them create something with them. It is great for an art lesson to get them to use their imaginations and I love to see what they come up with.

I also love that it comes in a box that you can easily store everything in. You can see a picture above. We don't have all of the pieces in it but it does give you an idea.

I delayed each of the 3 reviews a bit. I am always cautious about products made of wood. I am worried they will chip etc. They have been playing with each of their toys for a few weeks now and I have to say I am really impressed. Their hasn't been one chip of wood or paint. Now let me tell you that they have played with each a ton of times and the pieces have been dropped on the tile and everything. They still look brand new. Just look at the pics as I took them not long before posting this review. You can tell how they still look like they are brand new.

They have also been kind enough to offer a giveaway to our Australian residents on this item. Please look below for the Rafflecopter from to enter.
