This year my oldest two children entered second and fourth grades. As a homeschooling mom I am excited each year to create their lesson plans. This year I was stumped a bit though. I have a third child who will be three in January 2014. I started her in preschool this year as part of our homeschooling. I was having trouble preparing lesson plans that would hold her attention and not take away from my older two children. I have some lessons specifically for her and others that all three children can take part in.
I came across eat site called M is for Monster who creates lesson plans for the younger children. This was just perfect for my youngest daughter. I contacted them immediately to see if they would like to work with us on a review. I visit the M is for Monster site and just fell in love with their lesson plans. They were great learning tools and designed just for kids. I loved all the designs, etc.
The company was just as excited to work with us.
The day the package arrived I couldn't wait to open it up and share it with my children. The best part was there were lessons geared specifically for my youngest daughter and a few lessons that I was able to let all three of my children participate in.
Each month they create a new box to mail out to their customers. Each months lessons have 4 weeks and each week has a new theme with different activities.
For the sake of our review we wanted to get everything reviewed and posted on our site. Due to this we completed all 4 weeks in a 2 week time frame so we could share it with you.
We reviewed the September Activity Box.
Here were the themes included in our box:
Week 1: Apples
Week 2: I'm So Cool
Week 3: Ladybugs
Week 4: Shapes
We had a blast doing each activity included. Each lessons help my child(children's) attention and they enjoyed doing them. The lessons taught them about numbers, letters, shapes, sorting, memory game, and creativity projects.
Below you will find a description of each along with pictures we took during our projects.
1. Apple Sorting
2. Apple Counting Book
3. Apple Tree Craft
4. Head Bust
5. All About Me Book
6. Face Memory Game
7. Ladybug Bingo
8. Ladybug Counting
9. Shapes Poster
10. Fish Art
As you can see from the pictures above we had a blast doing our lessons and got to use our noodles alot (that is what my children refer to their brains as....lol)
Each lessons comes with everything you will need to complete it. It also comes with all school supplies also, except for scissors. This saved me lots of time with my toddler as I didn't have to sit and her. I absolutely loved it and so did my children. My oldest two children also loved it because they got to take part in a few of the lessons too. M is for Monster got a BIG Thumbs Up from our family.
You can check out the M is for Monster Blog for more ideas to see how other families use their lessons. Plus be sure to follow M is for Monster on Facebook too as she shares recipes and so much more on there.
If you have a little one be sure to order your box today. You can also purchase a larger plan too, if you are interested in doing several months.
