Product Review for My Precious Kids

Are your little ones not using their listening ears, picking up toys etc?

Well this is just the review that could help you :)

We had the pleasure of doing a Product Review for My Precious Kids

We were sent a My Growing Up Chart to Review.

This was a great review for us as my oldest daughter (who is 5 1/2) hasn't been using her listening ears, picking up toys etc lately.

Here is a Description of the Product:

My Growing Up Chart

A reward chart for children from 4 years of age. Ideal for children of elementary school age.

In the package we received the following:

A Chart

Booklet with directions and advice

2 sheets of number stickers

2 sheets of Great Job Star Stickerss

Dry Erase Marker

2 sheets of job type stickers

Mounting Double Side Tab

Our Review:

It states in the booklet to sit down with your child and explain the chart to them. This also helps to get them excited about it.

I did just this. We went into our Homeschool Classroom and opened the rest of the package together. I explained to them what each thing was and how we would use it.

I used it for my older 2 children. Anthony 7 1/2 and Alexis 5 1/2

We started by writing both of their names on the My Name line at the top of the chart.

I then went through the job stickers to pick ones that pertained to them and things we needed to work on.

We choose I've Been Kind to Someone, I Dressed Myself, I've Eaten My Food, I picked up my Toys, I've been Polite and I've Been Good at Bedtime.

We stuck 1 sticker in each box located on the chart. It has 8 spots we only used 6. I will be addin 2 more once our school year begins.

Next to each picture I wrote my Sons name Anthony and my Duaghters name Alexis. This way we can put the number stickers next to each of their names when they do that particular thing.

I was trying to think of a reward that would work for the entire chart. This can vary with each family/child. You will need to decide on something that will work for your child and they will be excited to earn.

I have a goodie bag of things I pick up when I am out and about. I used this bag for our school year last year and it worked great. I decided to use it as the rewards for our chart.

This is what I did. We did it for 1 week and then would start a new one the following week. They could earn a total of 7 stickers per week for each job.

I have a bucket full of play money/coins that I use for my older son during math time. I gave them a coin for each sticker they earned on the chart. If they received all 7 stickers for a particular job they recieved a Great Job Star Sticker and an extra coin.

At the end of the week I would then take items out of the goodie bag and put prices on them. They could then use the play money they earned to buy thing(s).

We have been using this for approx. 2 - 3 weeks now and I have noticed a big improvement in my daughter. I never had problems with my son following directions etc. He is loving it too!!! He said it is so much fun and he can go look at it to make sure he has done everything he is suppose too :)

My daughter checks it throughout the day too. It is so cute to see her go in and check it. I have had to remind her here and there of a certain job but not as often. This has helped her to realize that if she follows directions etc she will receive an award for doing so good. She gets so excited each day when we go over the chart and I give them their money rewards. She looks at me and says "Mommy I did it!" I just love to see the smile on her face and her excitement.

I use to have to remind her constantly to do things, my house would be a mess from her taking toys out etc. I would say this has been cut in half. I am very happy with the results that we have had and in such a short period of time. (results will vary with each child).

I highly recommend this product. It has been a great resource in our house and I look forward to expanding on it this school year :)
