Chico Bag Product Review

I am all about recycling and love when companies recycle too!

I came across a wonderful site called Chico Bag and they do just this.

Chico Bag STORY
In 2004, Andy Keller, now ChicoBag president, took a trip to his local landfill after spending the day landscaping his backyard. He was horrified by what he saw. Single-use bags were visually the dominant article at the landfill that day, blanketing the landscape in a thin mix of white and beige plastic. On his way home he began to notice plastic bags everywhere, caught in trees and on fence posts, half drowned in gutter puddles and blowing in the streets like urban tumbleweeds. That day Andy vowed to stop using single-use bags. Inspired, Andy dropped a few bucks on a second hand sewing machine and began sewing what would ultimately become the first ChicoBag® brand reusable bag.

I had the opportunity to review one of their bags.

I received the Sling rePETe Cinnabar

The Cinnabar Sling rePETe is a simple, messenger style bag designed to go where you do. The single-strap style makes this bag ideal for taking on your bike, hopping on the subway, or toting to school. Complete with a large, forty pound carrying capacity and durable, machine washable fabric, the Sling can handle anything you throw its way. Made of 99% recycled content, the Sling rePETe is designed for the eco-conscious commuter.

It comes in a variety of colors too!

It is made from 99% Recycled Content *

* Fabric: 100% Recycled (PET)**
* Cord: 100% Recycled (PET)**
* Carabiner: 97% Recycled Aluminum
* Cordlock: 100% Recycled Polyurethane
* Thread, Screen Print, Care Label Made from Virgin Material

* 99% Recycled Content by Weight
** Made from Recycled Plastic Bottles!

They even go as far as to print their labels on Recycled Paper and with Soy Ink!

Gotta Love That!

I absolutely love my bag and have used it alot. I hate all the plastic bags and locally my town does not have a recycling service which drives me crazy. I try to use as many of them in art projects but you can only use so many. I just hate to throw them away and polute our landfills. I know one of my local grocery stores recycles them but I would much rather use a bag that has been recycled. It is very roomy and I can use it for groceries, regular shopping etc.

Here is my oldest daugher modeling the bag.

I just love the color we received.

It has the perfect length strap and can hold alot. It also wipes right down in case you spill anything on it. I dropped one of my daughters bottles in it and milk spilled on the bottom. It wiped clean easily.

The thing I absolutely love the most is that the bag I reviewed was made by recycling plastic bottles. What a great way to keep the bottles out of our landfills. I would have never guessed you could make such a cute bag out of recycled plastic bottles. Props to Chico Bag for that!

It also comes with a pouch that is attached to the inside of the bag. You can easily tuck the entire bag into this pouch. I then place it on a shelf in pantry and it doesn't take up any space at all. It also has a clip aatached so you can attach it to your purse etc. This way you don't have to physically tote it around and will have it with you all the time. I LOVE It!

I also love the variety in colors too so it isn't a boring ol bag.  Very Trendy!

Here is a little more info about the bag that I reviewed.
