I cannot stress how important safety is in our home. Having 3 little ones defiantely will keep you on your toes to ensure their safety at all times. Some say I am overly protective, but I feel that you can't protect them enough. Especially in the world today. Way to many things happening. Even though I cannot control alot of things that may happen outside our home, I can inside our home though.
We have a 8, 6 and 1 year old. When my baby girl was close to turning one I was on the hunt to find gates for our staircase. I was able to review 2 different gates from KidCo. They are absolutely wonderful and did just the trick. I love them.
Well, they contacted us again to see if we would be interested in reviewing 2 more of their products. It stemmed after reading an these headlines/articles:
Within the past 48 hours in Chicago alone there have been two more incidents where a television and dresser have fallen on toddlers. On Tuesday, a one year old was killed by a falling tv and yesterday a two year old was critically injured by a falling dresser that had a tv on it. That child is now in serious condition.
These two tragedies are just the latest of 5 such incidents since October, 2011 where 3 other children from the Chicago area died from falling furniture and televisions. The article in today’s USA Today states, as we at KidCo already knew, that they CAN be prevented with proper anchoring systems!
It is really sad to read/see things like this happening to our children. It is so easy to use simple devices to prevent alot of these accidents from happening.
We reviewed the following 2 items (We couldn't get our photos to come out clear due to how our dresser and tv are located. Due to this we will be using stock photos from the KidCo Site).
•Prevents a flat screen TV from tipping over
•Nylon straps help to secure TV to wall or furniture
•Multi pack of 2
•Secures furniture to wall
•Helps prevent accidental tipping
•Installs quickly and easily
We absolutely love both of these products. Each was super easy to install/attach. It is pretty much self explanatory but the directions are there if you need them. Every thing came packaged and we had each installed in about 30 minutues each. It really secures our Television and our Tv Stand. We don't have a taller dresser but our TV stand is on the taller side, so we used it on it. I feel much safer now. We have a large TV and I was always worried about it falling on one of the kids. I no longer have to worry about this now.
The straps for the television our attached to the back of the tv. The other end can then be attached to the wall or the stand you have it on. We attached it to the wall to ensure it was more secure.
The straps for the furniture are attached to the back of the piece. Then you also attach it to the wall. This ensures it will not tip over. The straps pull tight to keep them in place and secure.
I recommend you head over to the KidCo site and let them help you with your needs for your home.
It is never to early or late to make sure your home is safe.
